Did you know that over 70 million barrels of oil a year are used to make polyester fibres for our clothes. Polyester, the cheap and durable yarn, has a lot of properties that lends itself to becoming recycled. Recycled polyester (rPET) is made by gathering existing plastic and re-spinning into new polyester fibre. What's even better is that it's actually cheaper to produce than virgin polyester.
