Summer Radiance Has Arrived: The Story Behind Our Summer Fragrance Collection
The Summer Radiance collection begins with a question that sounds deceptively simple: what does summer actually smell like?
Not what we are told summer smells like — the sunscreen and chlorine of marketing departments, the artificial coconut of mass-market seasonal products. What it actually smells like in the specific moments that make summer memorable: the particular quality of heat before a storm. The sweetness of ripe fruit in a kitchen window. The moment in early evening when the day’s warmth is still present but the air begins to shift toward night.
That is the sensory territory we were working in when we built Summer Radiance.
The Anchor Scent: Mango & Coconut Milk
Every seasonal collection has an anchor — the fragrance that defines the collection’s character. For Summer Radiance, that fragrance is Mango & Coconut Milk (R520).
The mango note provides tropical brightness without the synthetic edge that plagues most mango fragrances in home products. There is a slight skin-quality to ripe mango — the warmth of the fruit held in your hand — that the R520 formulation captures. The coconut milk note is creamy rather than sweet, closer to the actual material of coconut milk (fatty, slightly floral, warm) than to coconut extract.
Together, they create a fragrance that reads as genuinely tropical rather than tropically themed. The difference is whether you smell sunscreen or whether you smell the actual ingredients of summer.
The Supporting Act: Equilibrium in Summer
No. 3 Equilibrium (R503) is included in the Summer Radiance selection for its transitional quality — the fragrance for early evening, when the day begins to cool and the mood shifts from active to present. Use R520 through the afternoon. Transition to R503 as the sun drops.
