Autumn Harvest Is Here: The Story and Scent Journey of Our Fall Fragrance Collection

Home Fragrances Collection by Sunsum

Autumn Harvest arrives on September 1. It is the collection we build toward all year.

Autumn is the season where fragrance does its most important work in the home. When the air cools and the days shorten, the indoor environment becomes more central to how we feel. The quality of the fragrance in a room matters more in autumn than it does in any other season, because we are spending more time indoors and because the sensory contrast between outside and inside is at its greatest.

Autumn Harvest is built to fill that space with warmth, depth, and the specific character of the season at its best.

The Core Fragrances

Spiced Rum Punch Fragrance Oil by Sunsum

Spiced Rum Punch (R546) — Cinnamon, Clove & Ginger. The collection’s warm spice flagship. Spiced Rum Punch opens with cinnamon and clove at full volume — festive, celebratory, the smell of a kitchen at its best on a cold day. Ginger in the mid-register adds brightness that keeps the sweetness from becoming cloying. The drydown settles into a warm rum-and-wood base that lingers long after the top notes have passed.

This is the fragrance that announces the season. Use it in communal spaces — living rooms, kitchens, entryways — where it can do its full environmental work.

World's Fair Fragrance Oil by Sunsum

World’s Fair (R540) — Wisteria, Cedar & Frankincense. If Spiced Rum Punch is the warm, gregarious fragrance of autumn gatherings, World’s Fair is its quieter, more interior counterpart. Wisteria at the top brings a soft floral opening that reads as refined rather than sweet. Cedar in the mid-register provides structure and dryness. Frankincense at the base adds a quality of depth and ceremony — the smell of important rooms. Use World’s Fair in spaces where presence and focus matter: a reading room, a home office, a space for contemplative practice.

How to Use the Collection

Autumn Harvest fragrances are oil-based and designed for cold diffusion (reed diffusers, oil warmers) rather than heat vaporization. Cold diffusion preserves the integrity of the more delicate top-note compounds — the cinnamon brightness in Spiced Rum Punch and the wisteria opening in World’s Fair — in ways that heat can degrade.

Use heavier amounts of fragrance oil in September (3–4 reeds per vessel) and increase the number of reeds as the season deepens into October, when you want the scent throw to expand to fill increasingly closed indoor environments.
